Your Doula, Katie!
As a business owner, birth and postpartum doula, wife, and mama to three boys and three kitties, I have embraced a ‘relax and go with the flow’ mentality. I enjoy quiet days at home, but am always up for an adventure to Cedar Point, the beach or hiking in the woods! I love being outside, especially in the fall.
Almost three years ago, I discovered doulas and instantly knew that every struggle I endured during pregnancy, birth and postpartum prepared me for this! I wish so much that I had known about doulas with my first two pregnancies because I NEEDED a doula, but didn’t know it. Now I’m trying to get the word out about us doulas and help mamas have amazing, empowering experiences as they grow and welcome little babies!
I’m always excited to learn new things. I enjoy reading and keeping up with the latest studies as far as birth, newborn and parenting goes. My next certification goals are to become a Lactation Counselor and eventually I’d love to go to school to become a Midwife, but that’s way down the line.
As a follower of Jesus, my life’s purpose is to praise and pray to my Savior, and to love and serve others, especially those in need. I know that God thoughtfully guides me to each one of my clients, and His grace blesses our journey together. I care about and respect all people, including all cultures and beliefs. My goal is to support you and meet you where you are in your unique walk of life.
My Silly, Sweet Family!
Fun fact! My husband and I had the same last name before getting married. (Not at all related, though… haha) Also, his name is Carey Fisher, and he is a big Star Wars fan. He’s pretty awesome.
My three boys are Jude who is 10, Jonah who is 2.5 and Luca who is currently 6 months old. I’m going to look back at this about me page someday and tear up because the months just fly by!
Carey and I have traveled a lot together. We lived in Florida, Texas and North Carolina, before settling into our home in my hometown, Norwalk, Ohio. The mountains of North Carolina are my favorite! I miss hiking to waterfalls and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Though, Ohio has cool things too. It’s fun taking my children to places I enjoyed as a kid, like Cedar Point. It’s also just nice to be close to family here.
